MOSCOW (BNS): Russia will deliver three Su-30MK2 aircraft to Indonesia in September, a media report said.

According to RIA Novosti, the An-124 transport aircraft of Russia will deliver the first two Su-27SKM aircraft at the Makassar air base, South Sulawesi, Indonesia on 7th September, 2010.

The final Su-27SKM aircraft will be delivered to the same base five days later on 16th September.

The country plans to display the new fighters during the 65th anniversary of the Indonesian Defence Forces which will be held on October 5, 2010.

In 2007, Indonesia had signed a $300 million contract with Russia for the delivery of six fighters – three SU-30MK2s and SU-27SKMs – in which three SU-30MK2 fighters have already been delivered to Indonesia in December 2008 and January 2009.

Indonesia also plans to replace a part of its outdated fleet of US F-16 aircraft with 16 Russian Sukhoi fighters, the report said.
