WASHINGTON (BNS): The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) has notified US Congress of a possible Foreign Military Sale (FMS) of 84 F-15SA aircraft to the Government of Saudi Arabia.

Under the $29.432 billion contract, US Congress will supply 170 APG-63(v)3 active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar sets, 193 F-110-GE-129 improved performance engines and 300 AIM-9X Sidewinder missiles.

The DSCA will also sell 1,100 GBU-24 PAVEWAY III laser-guided bombs (2,000lb) and 338 joint helmet-mounted cueing systems (JHMCS), 500 AIM-120C/7 advanced medium-range air-to-air missiles (AMRAAM).

According to the agency release, the deal will include upgrade of the existing Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) fleet of 70 F-15S multirole fighters to the F-15SA configuration. A provision of CONUS-based fighter training operations for a contingent of 12 F-15SAs is also included in the deal.

The deal will strengthen the on-going strategically important relationship of US and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
