BrahMos breaks fifth nation syndrome: Dr. Kalam


Former President of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam congratulating BrahMos for such a successful joint venture and also sharing his experiences on "What we learnt from BrahMos".

NEW DELHI (BNS): BrahMos has broken the fifth nation syndrome, said former President of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam on Sunday, while addressing the conference on “Joint Ventures and Technology collaboration in Defence – towards realising world class systems” at BrahMos Headquarters, New Delhi.

Dr. Kalam congratulated the entire BrahMos team both Indian and Russian including the consortium of industries, R&D labs of India and Russia and Indian academic institutions for their significant contribution in design, development, production leading to induction of missile systems into all the three services of Indian Defence.

"By giving the supersonic cruise missile which is first of its kind in the world, nation is proud of the entire BrahMos team. BrahMos team (Russian and Indian) have successfully broken the fifth nation syndrome. I congratulate all the BrahMos teams and their partners," he said.

BrahMos Aerospace on 12th June, 2011 celebrated the 10th anniversary of its first supersonic launch. The first successful launch of BRAHMOS cruise missile has taken place on June 12, 2001.
