GROTON (BNS): US Navy has awarded a $23 million contract to General Dynamics Electric Boat to support submarine repair work at Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) in Virginia.
According to the company, the order is part of a Basic Ordering Agreement awarded to Electric Boat in September 2010 to support US Navy submarine repair work.
Under this work order, the company will do maintenance activities on USS Newport News (SSN-750) and USS West Virginia (SSBN-736).
The company has scheduled to complete the work by September 2012 at its Electric Boat’s operations and support organisation in Groton.
