India offers to launch S Korean satellites

NEW DELHI (BNS): India has offered its launch vehicles as a platform to send South Korean satellites into space.

The proposal in this regard was put forth by India's External Affairs Minister S M Krishna before the South Korean President Lee Myung-bak during the latter's visit to New Delhi on Thursday.

Indian Space Research Organisation has signed an MoU with the Korean Aerospace Research Institute. Referring to the MoU, Krishna said that South Korean satellites could be launched by Indian carrier rockets.

The South Korean President agreed to the proposal and asked his officials to do the necessary follow-up, according to news reports.

ISRO has successfully launched a number of satellites for several European countries.
