Intelsat delays next satellite launch for a day

MOSCOW (BNS): Launch of the US Intelsat 18 telecommunications satellite from its Zenit-2SB carrier rocket has been postponed for a day, a media report said.

According to RIA Novosti, the launch which was scheduled for the 21:00 GMT on Tuesday (1:00 on Wednesday, Moscow time) will now take place on October 6.

The satellite is equipped with 32 transponders and will provide telecommunications services to subscribers in East Asia, US West Coast and the Pacific Region.

Till now, overall 50 satellites have been operated through the Intelsat Ltd in worldwide basis.
