NEW YORK (BNS): US Army has awarded a Life-Cycle Contractor Support (LCCS) for its C-12, RC-12 and UC-35 aircraft to Systems Field Support (SFS) division of L-3 Communications.

SFS has received the five-year contract for $440 million.

Under the contract, SFS will provide total aircraft system maintenance, repair, modification, service, logistical support and management processes for the worldwide fleet of approximately 190 aircraft.

“L-3 SFS is pleased to be selected by the US Army to provide turnkey LCCS for this critically important Army aviation program,” Ed Gloviak, president of L-3 Systems Field Support, said.

The C-12 and RC-12 turboprop and UC-35 jet aircraft are used by the US Army, Army Reserves and the Army National Guard. These aircraft support the movement of essential cargo and personnel to support peacetime and contingency operations including transportation of key command and staff personnel.

The L-3 SFS operating unit in Madison, Mississippi, will be supported by a team that includes M1 Support Services, Hawker Beechcraft Services, Sierra Industries, Cessna and Aerospace Products International.
