MOSCOW (BNS): Russia is planning to introduce virtual battlefield training for its military forces by 2013, according to Russian media reports.

"The news system would be comparable and in some aspects even superior to those implemented in countries with the most advanced military forces," RIA Novosti quoted Chief of the General Staff Gen. Nikolai Makarov as saying on Wednesday.

"We must adopt quickly...and figure out as soon as possible how to train our soldiers and the military as a whole," he added.

The new systems will be based on advanced simulation of battle grounds to reflect the reality of modern conflicts.
