STOCKHOLM (BNS): Swedish defence major SAAB has received a contract from the country’s Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) to provide support and maintenance for the Swedish Armed Forces’ Helicopter 15 (Agusta 109 LUHS) fleet.

Under the deal, SAAB will provide support and maintenance for the entire fleet of 20 Agusta 109 multi-utility helicopters designated Helicopter 15 in the Swedish Armed Forces.

The company will also provide materiel and technical personnel for the support and maintenance work which will begin in 2012.

The contract will come into force following a 10-day period without any third party appeal, SAAB said.

The Swedish forces are currently operating Helicopter 15 from two bases – Linköping and Ronneby, Sweden.
