KOMSOMOLSK-NA-AMURE (TASS-DEFENCE): In 2017, the Su-35S fighters will be refined with regard for the combat usage in Syria, Russia's Deputy Defence Minister Yuri Borisov said.

"The planes of this year will be refined with due account for the Syrian experience and drawbacks. We may even delay the acceptance of the aircraft in service before the confirmation of the troubled issues correction," Borisov said during his visit to the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aviation Plant named after Yuri Gagarin (KnAAZ).

The official said that previously the rubbish from the runway had slipped into the air intakes of the aircraft during take-offs and landings; there had been also problems with the canopy and the screens.

However, the aforementioned drawbacks were fixed during the combat usage. According to Borisov, an agreement to deliver the aircraft at an annual rate of 10 items through 2020 was signed with the plant.

"According to the reports of our pilots who work in Syria, it is one of the best aircraft in terms of flight specifications, armament suite and air-launched weapons range. The plane is unmatched in the modern combat, they believe. This is why the potential foreign customers are increasing their interest in the aircraft," Borisov added.

The Su-35S is a deeply upgraded super-manoeuvre multi-role fighter jet of the 4th++ generation developed with the application of the 5th-generation technologies.

The Su-35S features a new avionics suite that is based on a digital information-management system, a new radar with a long range of aerial targets detection and an increased number of simultaneously tracked and engaged targets and engines of enhanced power output with thrust vector control.
