US Army awards wireless contract to ManTech

FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA (BNS): US Army recently awarded a $68 million contract to the ManTech International Corporation for the deployment of cellular communications network in Afghanistan.

ManTech will be providing Expeditionary Cellular Communications Service (ECCS) for the US Army in Afghanistan.

The company will design, build and maintain an integrated communications system that will provide continuous cell phone coverage for operational forces in Afghanistan. The solution will include permanent and mobile cell towers located on forward-operating bases, according to a news release by the company.

"Uninterrupted communications are critical to our forces in remote regions. We are proud of this opportunity to put our expertise to use once again in support of the coalition effort in Afghanistan," said Louis M. Addeo, president and chief operating officer of ManTech's Technical Services Group.

ManTech is a leading provider of innovative technologies and solutions for mission-critical national security programmes.
