USS McCampbell to participate in IMDEX 2011

SINGAPORE (BNS): The Arleigh Burke-class, guided-missile destroyer USS McCampbell (DDG 85) of US Navy has arrived in Singapore to participate in the International Maritime Defense Exhibition (IMDEX) Asia 2011.

IMDEX is a maritime defence trade show which will be held from 18th to 20th May 2011 at the world-class Changi Exhibition Centre in Singapore.

“IMDEX Asia is more than just a trade show. It provides the navies in attendance a chance to interact and build new partnerships or strengthen existing relations,” Cmdr. Steven DeMoss, McCampbell’s commanding officer said.

McCampbell is assigned to Destroyer Squadron 15 and is forward-deployed to Commander Fleet Activities Yokosuka, Japan.

USS McCampbell (DDG-85) is an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer in the United States Navy was built at the Bath Iron Works in Maine.
