NEW DELHI (PTI): Afghan Army Chief Gen Sher Mohammad Karimi will arrive here Thursday on a four-day visit during which he will hold talks with top officials, besides reviewing the passing out parade of the Indian Military Academy at Dehradun.
The visit comes days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Afghanistan's new President Ashraf Ghani on the sidelines of the SAARC Summit in Nepal.
Modi has made it clear that India will stand with Afghanistan "at every step" as a friend and partner.
Defence sources said Karimi's visit is largely for the passing out parade on Saturday which will see a large number of Afghan officers pass out of the prestigious academy.
