KOCHI (PTI): HMAS Darwin, a long range escort frigate of the Australian Navy, called at Kochi on Wednesday.
Commanded by Commander Terence Morrison, the ship is en route to Western Arabian Sea for operations with other multinational forces.
INS Kalpeni welcomed the Australian warship outside harbour and led her in.
Sean Kelly, the Consul General of Australia at Chennai, who is in the city in connection with the visit, accompanied by Commander Morrison called on Vice Admiral Satish Soni, Flag Officer Commanding in Chief Southern Naval Command.
The ship will depart Kochi on February 15.
Meanwhile, professional exchanges, sporting encounters and social interactions have been planned between the two Navies, a naval release said here.
